MultiChoice launched DStv into Africa in October
1995 with 23 television channels. DStv was a pioneer in television
on this continent, and was in fact one of the first in the world to
offer digital satellite television viewing. The service has been
improved and enhanced over the years with many top channels being
added to the already expansive bouquet. DStv now offers from over 40
television channels, music from 20 uninterrupted audio channels (40
in South Africa) and international radio channels. MultiChoice
provides a range of Subscriber Management Services to television
households in more than 40 countries throughout Africa and the
adjacent islands. DStv has grown to over 350 000 in less than four
years MultiChoice is responsible for DStv Digital Network as the

SERVICES
DSTv in C and
Ku Band/Service 1 Tele10 is servicing both in C band and Ku Band. C band is
using a large antenna ( 2.4 m ) with a digital decoder. Ku Band is
using a small dish (55 to 90 cm) and use a digital decoder. There
are many "bouquet" to chose from the Full one to the mini
bouquet.
French
Bouquet " Le Sat "/Service 2 French bouquet as indicated is a collection of
french channels using digital technology. Some of them are: Canal
Horizons, CFI, TV5, etc.
Tele10 Analog
( UHF/MMDS )/Service 3
Analog system was the
first technology used in Tv broadcasting by Tele10 in the early
'90. It used large earth antennas ( 5 m ) for reception and need
also transmitters. Clients are using small MMDS antennas for
reception. This system will be very soon replaced by the new one in
Ku band.
